“It’s very strange what people have tweeted.”

The BGT hopeful then admitted he has received some strange requests from fans following his thrilling performances.

He divulged to whathappening: “People have been asking me to set someone on fire and do a high fall from the top of the building at their wedding and I keep saying, ‘no we can’t do that!’

In terms of his experience backstage, Matt, who works with Firexo to bring safety and effectiveness to his gripping stunts, found the logistics of his act to be challenging to fit into strict time constraints required by the live shows and his first audition.

He said: “For us it was chaos. We’re not just putting a microphone down on stage, we had so many different things going on.

“In the first audition we had for people looking after the guy who was on fire and we had to build a box rig for the guy doing the high fall.

“We only had a 15 minute window to prep the guy who was on fire because otherwise his fire protection wouldn’t have been as strong as it was after that time.”

The semi-finalist also explained why nerves almost got the better of him before he took to the stage on Tuesday night.

Matt added: “I was a little bit nervous because we did a test and it didn’t go well in the test but a bad rehearsal means a good performance and it went well, everybody was safe and the predictions we got right.

“I’m used to performing live because of my background so it didn’t bother me in that respect. I knew what we could do and it worked.”

The talented illusionist also told whathappening.net he had limited time to rehearse with presenters Anthony McPartlin, 43, and Declan Donnelly, 43, ahead of their role in his latest on-screen performance.

He said: “We only had 15 minutes with them but it was very simple so they just stayed in the wings in a safe position and then changed places with the stunt doubles. We didn’t have long to rehearse with them but they’re a lovely bunch of guys.”

Matt is currently back at his day job on the set of the latest movie from the Fast & Furious franchise.

He has also been part of the stunt crew in several Harry Potter films and HBO’s Game of Thrones.
